The movie, Bend it like Beckham, is about Jess an Indian girl who loves to play football. Jess wants to play as good as David Beckham. The only problem is her parents; they want her to be a nice Indian girl with good education. They also want her to learn how to cook Indian food, so she one day gets married to a nice Indian boy.

Jess often plays football in the park with her male friends even if she’s not allowed. One day when she is in the park, Jules saw her and asked Jess if she wanted to join the football team for girls, which Jules played in. Jess said okay.

At the beginning the coach, Joe, wasn’t sure about Jess, but after he saw her playing, he knew that she was very good. Everything seems to go right, but what do you think happens when her parents finds out that Jess’ playing football, and even worst: what do you think happens when Jess falls in love with her coach, when she already knows that Jules has a crush on him?

My opinion about the film:

‘Bend it like Beckham’ is a great movie. It isn’t only for girls, but also for boys. It’s about friendship, family, love, culture, football, taking chances, and of course humor. The film makes you laugh and make you realize what’s important in life. I don’t really have something negative to say about the movie.

I recommend the film to everyone in age of 10-17. It’s a great movie for girls and also for boys; it doesn’t matter if you like or dislike football, it’s a friendship movie too.

A multicultural Norway:

To growing up in multicultural Norway can sometimes be hard, especially if you are from another country. You can’t always eat what the Norwegian eats, do whatever they do or have on the same clothes as them. In some families you have to learn how to read and write in your own language, even if you have to learn Norwegian and English.
